SPLYNTRE B.V. (“we”, “us”) is responsible for the processing of personal data described in this policy.

Orders. Your name, e-mail address, delivery and billing address, phone number if you give one, what you ordered and whether it was paid. We use this to make, deliver and support your order. Legal basis: performing our contract with you. Payment details are handled by Shopify and the payment provider you choose; we never see or store them. We keep order data for 7 years, because Dutch tax law requires it.

Your account. If you create an account in our checkout: your e-mail address, login details and order history, so you can see your orders. Legal basis: our contract with you. Kept until you delete the account.

Waitlist and news. If you sign up on our website: your e-mail address and your permission to e-mail you about drops and news. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every e-mail or by writing to us. Kept until you unsubscribe.

Withdrawals and returns. If you use our withdrawal form or e-mail us to return a piece: your name, e-mail address, order number, what you are returning, your reason if you give one, and the date and time you submitted it. When a piece comes back, we photograph its condition. We use this to handle your withdrawal and refund, and to confirm it to you. Legal basis: our legal obligations as a seller and our contract with you. Kept with the order, for 7 years.

Contact. When you e-mail us, message us on WhatsApp or Instagram: your name, contact details and what you write. We use this to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying, or our contract if it is about an order. Kept for 2 years after our last contact, or longer if it belongs to an order.

Visiting the website. Our hosting provider records technical data such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a safe, working website. Kept for a short period only.

Statistics and marketing. Only with your permission, through the cookie banner — see article 3.

We need your order details to conclude and carry out the contract; without them we cannot deliver. Everything else is optional.

On your first visit we ask which cookies you allow. Only necessary cookies are used without your permission. You can change your choice at any time via Cookies at the bottom of every page; we ask again after a year, or when this article changes in substance.

Necessary — what is in your bag (splyntre_cart_id, splyntre_cart_count), the latest drop for the menu (splyntre_latest_drop), your preview session before launch (splyntre_preview), your cookie choice itself (splyntre_consent, kept for a year, and splyntre_consent_relayed), and the cookies Shopify needs to run the checkout, such as _tracking_consent. Without these the shop does not work.

Statistics — Shopify’s own visitor statistics: which pages are viewed and how many bags become orders. Cookies set by Shopify, such as _shopify_y and _shopify_s.

Also under statistics: Vercel Web Analytics, from our host Vercel. It counts which pages are viewed, the site you came from, your country, and your browser, operating system and type of device, and which products are viewed, added to the bag and taken to checkout, with their price. It sets no cookies. To tell visitors apart for one day it uses a hash of your request, which Vercel discards after 24 hours; we only see the totals.

Marketing — the Meta pixel. It measures whether our ads on Instagram and Facebook lead to visits and orders, and lets Meta show you relevant ads there. Meta sets the cookies _fbp and _fbc and receives which pages and products you view, what you add to your bag and whether you check out. When you complete a purchase, our checkout reports it to Meta; this can include your e-mail address and phone number in encrypted (hashed) form, so Meta can match the purchase to an ad. We are jointly responsible with Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. for collecting and sending this data; what Meta does with it afterwards is described in Meta’s privacy policy. Meta may transfer it to Meta Platforms, Inc. in the United States, which is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Your cookie choice is passed on to our checkout at checkout.splyntre.com, so the same choice applies there.

We share personal data only where it is needed for the purposes above:

• Shopify — our shop platform: checkout, payments, customer and order data, and our order e-mails. For some of its own services, such as Shop Pay, Shopify decides itself how data is used; see Shopify’s consumer privacy policy.
• Payment providers — iDEAL, card schemes, PayPal and Apple Pay, for the payment you choose.
• Our delivery partner — your name, address and contact details, to deliver your order and send you delivery updates.
• Vercel — hosting of splyntre.com and of our withdrawal form, and our visitor statistics if you allowed statistics cookies, see article 3.
• Resend — sending the confirmation e-mail when you withdraw from an order.
• Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (Instagram and Facebook) — only if you allowed marketing cookies, see article 3.
• Authorities — when the law requires it, for example the Dutch tax authority.

Our service providers process data only on our instructions. We do not sell your personal data.

Some of the parties in article 4 are based outside the European Economic Area, or use servers there, such as in the United States and Canada. We only allow this where your data stays protected: because the European Commission has recognised the country as safe, because the recipient is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or through the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

You have the right to:

• see the personal data we hold about you;
• have it corrected or completed;
• have it deleted, unless we must keep it by law (such as order data for the tax authority);
• have its use restricted;
• receive it in a usable format, or have it sent to another party;
• object to its use based on our legitimate interest, and always to its use for direct marketing;
• withdraw your consent at any time — via Cookies at the bottom of every page, the unsubscribe link in our e-mails, or by writing to us. This does not affect what happened before.

E-mail info@splyntre.com to use these rights. We answer within one month, and may ask you to confirm who you are first.

Not happy with how we handle your data? You can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or to the authority in the EU country where you live.

7.1 We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures. Our website and checkout use encrypted connections, and payments run through Shopify’s secure checkout.

7.2 We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. Showing you ads based on your activity, as described in article 3, only happens with your permission.

7.3 Our shop is not intended for children under 16. If you are under 16, ask a parent or guardian before signing up for our e-mails.

7.4 We may change this policy. The current version is always on this page, with its date at the top. If a change affects how we use cookies, we ask for your cookie choice again.
